The Shores: Construction almost complete in Oakville

We've been visiting The Shores in Oakville for over a year now and have closely followed the construction progress of our Bronte Road and Ontario Street based project on the blog.

With many residents having already moved in and the majority of work being completed, there's not much left for us to show!

The rooftop amenity space is the last major area of the building that requires work, with the townhomes also nearing completion.

The majority of the landscaping work is complete and so any work that's left to be done on site is mostly aestehtic.

The Shores in Oakville: Construction update, April 2012

Things have picked up at The Shores in the last few weeks. The good news is that the first residents moved in, which must be pretty exciting. Brickwork on the through road is almost finished, the town homes are growing and the majority of the work on site is purely aesthetic.

The Shores: Construction update from Oakville

 

The last time we visited The Shores in Oakville back in July, construction highlights included completion of the concrete framework and the beginning of precasting. Now we're almost finished enclosing the first floor, with all the windows being installed by the end of the month.

Interior finishing will begin soon, with teams working inside the building to get the suites ready.

The rooftop amenity space is coming along nicely with brickwork almost complete.

The crew work on getting some precasting installed on the roof.

Elevator cabs are almost done and are scheduled for completion in the next few weeks.

All precasting is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

That's it for this round from Oakville. The main work on site is getting all the precasting done and starting on the suites, with landscaping work also on track to be all done by the end of the year.

The Shores: Latest construction update from Oakville

Next up in our tour of Cityzen Developments construction sites brings us back to Oakville and back to The Shores. We last visited The Shores Condominiums and Townhomes site in April of this year when there was still a bit of snow on the ground. Since then, the sun has most definitely come out and there has been a great deal of progress made on site.

Window installation is 80% complete and work is continuing healthily at closing the building up.

The concrete framework is now fully complete. The above picture is a view of several floors of balcony space on the North-West corner of the development.

Most of the exterior work is completed on the roof area including pool area. The concrete framework is complete on the rooftop amenity area and cosmetic work will be commencing over the next few months.

Pre-cast has started on the main building and we have a crane on site that's currently working on that. Drywalling and stud work has started and work is going at a good pace.

All concrete pouring is complete on our townhome units and the next big job is pre-cast and window installation.

The current pace on site is roughly 2-3 units per day so we have another 4 or 5 months of work ahead of us to get The Shores looking nice! Occupancy is scheduled for March 2012 and we are on track to meet it.

The Shores Oakville: Construction update

We continue with our recent construction updates of Cityzen Developments projects by taking the short trip out to beautiful Oakville for a look at what's going on with The Shores.

These units will have great lake views.

Located at the corner of Bronte Road and Ontario Street in Oakville, right at Lake Ontario.

Crane #2 was taken down last week and crane one has been elevated to commence work on the two storey rooftop amenity space and mechanical spaces.

The roof structure is in progress and is due for completion.

We arrived just as the base of the rooftop pool was being finished.

Spring is going to be a busy few months on site with landscaping commencing. Work is continuing on closing up the building and interior work is commencing as windows are installed.

Nine townhomes at the rear of the development will be separated from the main building by landscaped areas from the North West entry point all the way through to the east entry point.
