Scotiabank BuskerFest: Another fantastic event for Epilepsy Toronto

If you were around the St. Lawrence Market area over the weekend you would have noticed a lot of craziness. The Scotiabank BuskerFest was in town for four days and Cityzen were once again involved for the fourth year. We set up a booth in front of the Sony Centre and had some interactive entertainment and amazing prize to lure passer-by's in.

We'd like to thank all who contributed to a great cause, and we are delighted to say that we helped raise over $100,000 for Epilepsy Toronto. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and to everyone who contributed over the course of the weekend.

It was another fantastic year on all accounts, with perfomers from around the world dazzling the crowds on the streets of Toronto. Congratulations to all of our prize winners, and we'll be back next year for BuskerFest 2012!

BuskerFest Toronto: BuskerBall 2011 kicks things off in St. Lawrence Market

The Third Annual BuskerBall was held in St. Lawrence Market last night and as a proud sponsor of this year's Scotiabank BuskerFest, the Cityzen crew were in attendance to get a sneak peek of what's in store over the next four days.

Some of the best street performers in the world were joined by more than 600 guests with the common goal of raising money for Epilepsy Toronto.

There was plenty of action over the course of the evening, with various performers entertaining the crowd amidst a live auction presided over by Zack Werner (including a special appearance by the Toronto Maple Leaf's Colby Armstrong), with MC Tom Hayes of CTV guiding us through the evening's events.

Here's what you can expect on the St. Lawrence Market streets this weekend:

This year, the North Market interior was designed by Jamie Alexander.

The Scotiabank BuskerFest Toronto does fantastic work to help raise awareness for the 1 in 10 people who live with epilepsy.

The Scotiabank Buskerfest runs from Thursday August 25th to Sunday August 29th in the St. Lawrence Market area.

It's a great day out for all ages so if you're planning a trip to downtown Toronto this weekend we fully recommend that you drop by and check out the amazing street performers and help out a great cause in supporting Epilepsy Toronto.

Cityzen will have a booth and we'll be giving away some great prizes so be sure to drop by and say hello!

Munge Leung-designed sales office is under construction

It may not look like much now, but this space located at the base of our London on the Esplanade project will soon be home to our brand new sales centre.

At the North East corner of Scott St. and The Esplanade, the location will service both our L Tower and Backstage projects and includes some cutting edge features which will be revealed soon.

The aim of the sales office is to capture the drama and excitement of living in this unique downtown location, right next to the Sony Centre and surrounded by the vibrant energy of clubs, bistros, restaurants, St. Lawrence Market, theatres and sports venues.

Munge Leung has designed the interiors, and having seen the latest renderings of what is planned for the sales office, we can't wait to see the final product!

Sony Centre for the Performing Arts: Box office open Tuesday, Sept 7th

The countdown has begun for the grand reopening of Toronto's newly renovated Sony Centre For The Performing Arts!

In celebration of the 50th Anniversary Season, the box office (1 Front Street East) will open Tuesday, September 7th at 10am. The first person to arrive at the box office on that day will receive a Sony Pocket Edition Sony Reader.

Following two years of renovations and restorations to the interior, Sony Centre for the Performing Arts will re-open on October 1st with the Cirque Éloize hit production iD, direct from a sold-out engagement in Montreal.

On September 7th only, visitors to the Sony Centre box office can purchase tickets to the October 1-3 performances for a special price of $25. We got a sneak peek of their show at last weeks BuskerBall and we were blown away. We thoroughly recommend their show, especially at this fabulous price!

The Sony Centre is a fantastic amenity and lies on the doorsteps of many of our projects including London on The Esplanade, L Tower and Backstage. We're looking forward to see how the centre will influence the surrounding community!

A very sneak peek at the construction of the pool at London on the Esplanade

We recently headed over to London on the Esplanade to take a quick look at  where the pool will be situated on site. Although the pool is currently covered and work is still ongoing, hopefully you'll get an idea of how it will fit into the outdoor area with our video below.
