The first time we visited the Aria site in North York, the project was still a few months away from occupancy. The second time we visited, work hadn't started on the townhomes part of the project. But when we spent some time on site last week, there were big changes to be seen! See the evidence below.
The finishing touches are almost done in all of the amenity space. We're just finishing the exits to get up to code and once that happens we'll be officially opening them up.
The pool area is now fully completed (check out what it looked like back in April).
There are a few minor finishing touches to complete before opening everything up.
The concierge area is all done, complete with water feature.
Residents will be able to enjoy the party room, exercise room, pool, media room and golf simulator.
The next aesthetic step is to finish landscaping on and around the property. That glass structure in the image is the swimming pool skylight.
Work is well underway on the 41 townhome units at the North end of the site.
Foundations are going in and we will be doing slab on grade prior to framing in the next few weeks.
After framing comes the stucco and interior work.
Our crew is busy finishing the last couple of floors on Tower 2 of the project and working on getting some suites staged for sale. The sales office is set for demolition soon to allow for landscaping to be finished. Both towers are under occupancy and looking well! For a full album of pictures, click here.
The Cityzen team made the short journey up the 404 to North York earlier this week to get a construction update on what's going on at our Aria Condominiums and Townhome collection. The site looks quite a bit different to the last time we took a look at it back in September. See where we're at now below.
Tiling in the pool area is due to start in the coming weeks, with most of the amenities scheduled for being open by end of May.
The virtual golf area and games room is all done and ready to open in April.
The main entrance and concierge area which connects both towers is almost fully done, with just the water feature being prepared for installation.
The townhome collection site doesn't look like much now but work is due to commence on site soon. There will be a landscaped green trail connecting the townhomes to the ravine along the east side of the site.
Occupancy began in tower one in November, with tower two starting occupancy in February. Currently, the team is doing between 8 -10 closings and PDI's a day.
Many thanks to Brian and Maurizio for showing us around! For more construction update photos from Aria, click here.

We here at Cityzen Development Group were worried, following last week's Name Our Condo prize collection mystery. But all fears were laid to rest when the first big winner from our Backstage Virtual Broker initiative happily showed up up on Friday to collect her prizes.
Sorina Benhas is the first Virtual Broker to reach the magic target of 75 registrants. As a result, she now has over $1,200 worth of prizes to play around with including a brand new iPad.
Sorina is a veteran of sorts in our recent competition initiatives. She participated in the Name Our Condo contest and signed up as a Virtual Broker when her friend sent her the link.
An accounting/book-keeping student finishing up at York University, Sorina had a few scares along the way to getting 75 registrants.
"I started emailing and messaging people on Facebook to get them to register and just kept harassing them! It became awkward at one stage because an old friend on Facebook messaged me saying 'Um...we don't really talk anymore', but I kept at it!
I think someone must have reported me because they thought I was spamming. I almost got kicked off of Facebook and had to change my passwords!"
"I'm interested in investing and think that condos are a smart investment. Many people in my age group are interested in investing but don't really know how to," said Sorina.
She also commented that this type of contest along with her persistence could peak the interest of her friends and perhaps educate them a little on investing in the condo maket. Sorina plans on doing some shopping with her winnings and is very excited to start using her iPad. She would like to thank all her friends and fans for helping her win!
Congratulations to Sorina on being the first Virtual Broker to win the set of prizes. We have our fingers crossed that one of her referrals buys a unit so she'll receive an extra $2,500 in cash!
One of our projects on the go at the moment, Aria Townhomes and Condominiums in North York is almost near completion, with first occupancy scheduled for mid-November.
After visiting the construction site yesterday and being shown around by Assistant Superintendent Fadi Sidhom, work seems to be well on pace to meet this date.
Fadi brought us around 'Building 1' with the majority of the work we saw being concentrated on getting the fixtures and fittings in place.
Check out our photos below for a better idea of the progress taking place...
