Ever since construction on the public plaza out front of the station was finished up last year, Union Station has been a hub for some awesome summertime events. Last year, Front Street Foods took over the space for an awesome food festival-esque event where people who lived or worked nearby could grab a bite to eat and look around. This year they’ve moved to University and Adelaide, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t another market taking its place! The Union Summer Market can now be found right outside Union Station’s front doors, and will be open 7 days a week until the first week of September.
If you’re hungry, you can stop by the market and try one (or maybe two) of the 18 food vendors’ offerings. Local favourites like Fresh Off The Boat, True True Pizza, and Mad Mexican, are amongst the variety of vendors at the market this summer. The most important thing is that no matter what you’re craving, they’ll have something to satisfy it!
That’s not all, either. Every Wednesday night from now until the end of August there will be an outdoor movie screening that is completely free to attend. Each screening kicks off at sunset, so stop by the Union Summer Market for a bite of dinner after work before enjoying the following films this summer:
- July 13: Wizard of Oz
- July 20: Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
- July 27: Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
- Aug. 3: Silver Streak
- Aug. 10: Room with a View
- Aug. 17: Some Like it Hot
- Aug. 24: Murder on the Orient Express
- Aug. 31: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
