“It’s designed for families,” says Sam Crignano in his interview with the Toronto Star, and with a kids’ room inside and the splash pools and park outside, it’s easy to believe. Of course, Sam is referring to our latest project Garrison Point, a partnership with Fernbrook Homes and Diamondcorp.
Creating spaces in the downtown core specifically for families means that people won’t have to move out of our amazing city to raise their children. Garrison Point is making up for what Liberty Village currently lacks - infrastructure designed with children in mind. Garrison Point has shown you their kids’ room, which is getting tons of buzz in the Toronto real estate world, and our Claude Cormier-designed park, and now Sam is suggesting there might also be a private school and daycare right on our site. Talk about convenience!
By the time the first families have moved into their Garrison Point homes, we’re hoping to see the completion of a pedestrian bridge that leads southbound to the lake, as well as an extension to Stanley Park. Families will be able to walk, bike, run, rollerblade, etc. all around the downtown core through parks and trails that all lead back home.
Sam and our partners at Fernbrook Homes and Diamondcorp are trying to bring to Toronto an idea that many people around the world have already adopted - live, work, and play in the downtown core with your family. Hopefully this trend will extend past our project and change the way Torontonians currently think about living in the city.
