The much talked-about L Tower at Yonge and The Esplanade is very close to topping off. We've just poured the 58th floor - the last one to be occupied. Everything above that is mechanical so all the equipment is being delivered soon.
The interior plumbing is very close to the slab and we've started on the interior studs in the corridors. We're moving up quickly so we're not far from starting on the interior finishing work.
Meanwhile on the outside, the entrance to the Sony Centre is being worked on on the Yonge St. side and the hoarding will soon be replaced to make it more visible. Work on the plaza is contiuing accordingly.
Underground, the tunnel connecting L and Backstage underneath The Esplanade is bored, but the wall hasn't been cut out yet. Once the excavation on Backstage is complete, a liner has to be put in place to protect the structure as the rock dries out and becomes unstable. Then our team can keep working on the tunnel. Scroll down to check out a few photos we took at the site.
