August is a jam-packed month at Cityzen, but that doesn't mean we can't have time for some updates from the Migrating Landscapes team out in Venice, Italy.
The organizers of Migrating Landscapes, Sasa and Johanna, are preparing for the Canadian pavilion for the 13th annual world-famous Venice Architecture Biennale, otherwise known as the Olympics of Architecture. We love the idea of young architects making it big. That's why we support Canada at the biennale so much. Here's what the two Winnipeggers had to say from Serenissima, the most serene republic of Venice.
Greeting from Venice!
We have arrived with our enormous haul of luggage, but managed to 'negotiate' a good price for our two-stop boat taxi to our apartment in Campo Ruga. It is absolutely beautiful and we have a great roof terrace [see picture] with a view of the Giardini beyond. Today we bought most of our tools and supplies and spent the day hauling them to the pavilion...over the bridges and canals. Let me just say it's a work out!

A beer well-deserved for Sasa. Wish we were there on those gondolas with you guys! Looks like a lot of packages were hauled over numerous stairs. What can we say, gotta do it for Team Canada.
