The Venice Architecture Biennale starts in just over two months and we're getting excited -- not only for the awesome architecture but also about Italy in general. As the August 26, 27 and 28 preview dates approach, we can't help but wonder how these young, talented architects will represent Canada through their architectural works.
Migrating Landscapes in five minutes
Here's a very cool five minute video that Migrating Landscapes Organizer (MLO) shot in Winnipeg. It's actually a great overview of what the project is all about.
If you haven't donated to Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Foundation to sponsor Migrating Landscapes -- the official Canadian entry at Venice this year -- then you should do so here. Every donation receives a charitable tax receipt.
You can also contact Sascha Hastings with any questions you have about supporting Migrating Landscapes and Canada at the Biennale.
Migrating Landscapes has launched the "Sponsor a Winner" drive for each of the 18 winning entries. We are proud to offer you the opportunity to sponsor a winner with a gift of $3,000. The money will defray travel costs, shipping costs for the models, and wood costs for the landscapes in Venice.
In return for your $3,000, your name will be displayed on the Canada Pavilion sponsor wall at the Biennale and on MigratingLandscapes.ca as the sponsor of a the entry you choose, as well as in RAIC's monthly e-newsletter to 4,300+ members. You'll also receive a charitable tax receipt from the RAIC Foundation.
Smaller donations are also welcome. Your gift will still be allocated as outlined above, and you will receive the same benefits but your name will be listed on the Canada Pavilion sponsor wall and on the Migrating Landscapes website at the level corresponding to your gift ($2,500 Patron I, $1,000 Patron II, $500 Supporter,$250 Friend I, $100 Friend II).

Cityzen has renderings!
Here's what's really getting us jazzed: renderings for the Migrating Landscapes installation at the Canada Pavilion! Remember in our last post we mentioned those bright fluorescent pink beacons? Well, here's what they will look like.
Wear Migrating Landscapes: Shop now open
Yes! It's true. You can wear your triangle on your sleeve for Migrating Landscapes now that they've launched an online shop. We can't get over how much neon pink there is. Five of everything, please.
