The Daniel Libeskind designed L Tower is really starting to take shape at Yonge St. and Front St. at the western edge of The Esplanade, as these pictures can attest to.
It's been a while since we last saw the site and the crews are now up to the 15th floor and counting, not to mention coming a long way on the Sony Centre's Back of House facilities.
Check out the below images for all the latest, and check out our Facebook album for more pics.
The concrete pour schedule is speeding up the higher we get up - this is due to the fact that the build is getting more typical with each floor added
The RCS system is almost 100% installed and the main work right now is to enclose the site and get it protected for Winter so that the trades can work effectively. (We love this shot by the way!)
We are well underway with the work on the Sony Centre's back of house also, with mechanical and electrical rouhg-ins ongoing, and work has begun on studding, winter protection and controlling water migration. No finishing work just yet - but that's coming
Heat pumps will be on site in December which will allow the studding work to commece on the Back of House
We're getting ready to pour the rehearsal floor floating slab. This is the view from the Sony Centre podium
Temporary services are coming to the building over the next couple of weeks (natrual gas, heat) and the water was turned on this week. Once the water protection is in place then we can begin drywalling
The underground forming work on L is all done!
We've been blessed with the weather so we are well on schedule to completing all necessary winter protection work which will mean that we'll be in great shape for the cold months ahead. Windows are being delivered on site starting in January which will help a great deal in the next phase of construction.
So, like our other sites, work is continuing at a healthy pace, and we are making progress daily.
Have any questions? Let us know on Facebook or Twitter. We'll be back again in the new year with another look at L Tower.
