Late last week we made the short trip East to Oakville to take a look at what's going on at our Waterlilies Townhomes construction site. Well, there's a big hole in the ground, that was pretty obvious as we drove by the site at Dundas St. E. and Sixth Line.
It's still fairly early in the construction phase but there has been great progress over the past few months, and the next few are going to be nice and busy. Take a look at the below pictures for an idea of where we are at this phase of the project.
Looking at the site from the South.
We're currently working on finishing up the last bit of bulk excavation and this phase will be complete in the next few days.
Some of the excavated material will be re-used to backfill the boundary walls.
The caisson wall is all down and the footings have been poured on the north side of the site.
The outisde form of the wall is complete on the northwest corner of the site and work is commencing on completing it all around the site.
We currently have two excavators on site. One is fitted with a hammer to break up shale to be used in the footings.
Excavation of the footings is the big job at the moment. It's an ongoing job and we expect forming to be complete in roughly 6-7 months.
The building forms are being brought over to the site. We send out all of the aluminium beams and our carpenters then work on building them to fit specific parts of the site.
So, there are still a ways to go before our purchasers can move in, but so far so good on site! A big piece of news is that the Hays Boulevard through-road at the South side of the site will be under construction over the next few weeks and will join up with Oak Park Boulevard.
We'll be back on site in a couple of months to check in on what progress has been made. Check out all of our photos from our visit here.
