The latest in our most recent series of construction updates brings us to Toronto's Waterfront and to our Pier 27 site. We've been to the site a few times before and the amount of work that's gone on since our last visit is quite staggering. Don't believe us? Check out previous posts here and here. Here are the latest photos from the site with some information on what's going on. For a better look at the progress that's been made in the past few months, click here.
Our current pace is 3,000 cubic metres of concrete a month. To put that into perspective, there's 9 metres in one truck of concrete. That's over 333 trucks of concrete coming on site a month or 11 a day. When Phase 2 is started that figure will jump to 5,000 cubic metres a month; 555 trucks a month or 18.5 trucks a day.
We currently have three fully operational cranes on site, and a fourth one is due to be up in the next month - work on excavating the crane pad is already under way.
Work has just begun on Phase Two of the project, with footings and columns being worked on at the moment.
The next few weeks will see a lot of work on the under slab drainage for Phase Two.
There are a few more slab boards to be installed on P2 so most of the work now is on closing it up.
As we move further South, work will commence on the amenity space, including the swimming pool and hot tub.
Work on Phase One has progressed to P1 and will be moving south.
In other news, work will begin soon on renovating our sales office in anticipation of re-opening to the public. No dates have been set yet but we'll be sure to have all the latest updates on our Facebook and Twitter feed, so start following!
