Phase Two of our Waterlilies townhome project had its grand opening last month and it sure was a busy one!
The success of Phase One which sold out in two days gave us high hopes for this phase. We drove past the site before the grand opening and saw a full parking lot, and that's when we knew it would be another busy couple of days!
Mr. Sahand Pouladi got to the site at 7:45pm and said he was number 56 in line. "I saw the billboard, registered online and got a phone call so I went for the line-up," he said. "I liked the location. In terms of property, location location location is everything. I already have a home with Fernbrook so this is a second property."
"I bought one of the Sea Rose units and my neigbour bought a unit too from my referral," he added.
Mr. Pouladi wasn't the only one to get involved with referals. Che Boyd and his girlfriend Amanda Russell bought a unit partly based on the advice of his sister. "We saw the sign and asked my sister about it because the builders are the same ones who built her house," Che said.
"We were downtown at a party and just left at around 2am and went straight to Oakville to camp out. We got there at 3am and the parking lot was completely full. We went to bed around 3:30am and woke up around 6:30am. By that time everybody that camped out in the parking lot was getting in line. I guess one person stayed there the whole night was kind of being the leader, giving people numbers and whatnot."
"The actual Waterlilies people came around 8/8.30am and started giving out legit numbers to people. I'm a fan of Oakville. My mom and my sister live here and I think it's a good location. It's a great spot".
"The one thing we could have used was a blanket. It was so cold!" says Amanda.
Evgeny Kolada is one purchaser who could also have used a blanket. He came to the site around 10:30-11pm the night before to see if anyone was there.
"We were looking for something in Oakville and a friend of ours told us about Phase One. She sent us the info on Phase Two so I registered and saw the cheapest price in all of Oakville in a very good location, so we really liked that!
"There was a tent set up so I slept there! There were loads of people waiting but only two in the tent - me and another guy."
"Everyone was very excited and we were sharing info. There were a couple of guys who bought properties at Phase One who said that if they had the chance they would buy more units there.
"The people were friendly, we had good laughs, and the next morning there were hundreds of people - hundreds! It was a lot busier when I woke up than when I went to sleep. We woke up at 5am and started the line."
