Our May update from Backstage is here! Last time we showed you photos takes at P6. It was also snowing. Now spring has finally sprung and we're up to P3 and P4. Here are some photos of our progress.
Toronto’s
waterfront is getting an overhaul with Cityzen and
other prominent Toronto developers front and centre in the transformation. Waterfront Toronto projects significant economic returns for the city. Sam
Crignano recently joined a panel of experts brought together by Waterfront Toronto at Corus Quay to brief the media on the advantages of developing the waterfront and
creating sustainable solutions to waterfront living.
This afternoon we hosted some of our brokers at the Pier 27 site, which is about to be officially topped off. VIP brokers were taken up in the hoists in small groups to check out the construction progress, suite layouts and especially the views.
The Pug Awards have been getting the general population of Toronto involved in their city's architecture and design since 2004. Every year citizens can vote on the good, the bad and the ugly of new Toronto buildings. You can check out this year's nominees and vote here.
Our friends over at The Dirt just published a list of the top ten condo projects in Toronto on their blog. While top ten lists of all sorts are everywhere, this particular one was compiled from feedback on their website using props, the dirt's own version of the Facebook like.
L Tower, Sherbourne & Selby and Pier 27 all made the list. It was nice to see the list full of great locations and unique design elements.
We're always on the lookout for architecture inspiration and we can always count on archiTEXT to show us something cool.
We recently discovered that the ArchiTEXT team runs an architecture day camp for kids on grades 6 to 9 called FutureBuilders. The pilot year in 2011 followed several year of research and development and FutureBuilders is now headed into its third season, this time at the University of Toronto School.
Next up on this round of spring construction updates are L Tower and Backstage. At L Tower the interiors are moving along quickly, and at Backstage there are big things happening below grade. Check out the photos below for an idea of what our crews are working on now.
With spring in the air (there was some soggy mixed precipitation going on when these photos were taken) construction seems to be revving up all over the city. Here's where we're at now on site at Pier 27.
